The Reverse To Do List

TO DO TODAY:
___  DO SOMETHING
           ___  DO SOMETHING ELSE
 ___  DO MORE STUFF
 ___  DO THAT AGAIN

So, I saw a version of this "to do list" online and it made me laugh.  That's kind of how I feel right now.  If I could just do something and then something else, I would be so productive!

I do like lists.  I make lists of things to buy, things to do, things to clean, projects to finish.  Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.  But I do like getting it down in front of me, in writing, and trying to get it all done.

That said, there are those days.  You know.  Those days.  (Or weeks.  Whatever.)  On those days instead of making a list first, I write down things I have already done.  For example, on my list this morning will be "make bed." And I will cross it off as soon as the last letter hits the paper. Cause it's already done.  Also "blog post" will be on their, too.  And "brush teeth."

There is something lovely and liberating about writing out the little accomplishments of the day that have already happened.

Often, if I am doing a Reverse List, I am using it with a regular to-do list.  So I write down things I want to do along with the things I've already done.  That way, if I stop to vacuum the bathroom rug (not on the list) on my way to vacuum my bedroom (so on the list) I write the first one down and then check both of them off.

{I am a psychological genius about making myself feel uber-productive! Hehehe. I love it.}

Want to see how other people spend their days?  Gabby has a post up about the site So, How Was Your Day?  Fascinating.
