This is one of my birthday presents I picked up with my birthday money: the illustrated version of The Elements of Style by Strunk & White. I am a bit astonished by this myself, but I don't think I have actually read The Elements of Style before. If nothing else, this confirms to me that I am a grammar nerd, because I am thoroughly enjoying it. I love grammar. I LOVE GRAMMAR! It's a funny, funny thing.
But I also love the illustrations by Maira Kalman. They are lovely, lovely. Many reviews of this book suggests a having work copy, and then this version--more for play I guess? We'll see. I like the idea of using something beautiful and useful at the same time.
